Ontario Secondary School Diploma

4 Year Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)

We offer FULL Ontario curriculum credit courses for students who wish to achieve excellent academic standing from Grade 9 to Grade 12 that will lead towards completing their Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) and preparing for admission to PREMIUM Ontario and Universities.

The compulsory 18 credits:

  • 4 Credits in English (1 credit per grade)
  • 3 Credits in Mathematics (1 credit in Grade 11 or 12)
  • 2 Credits in Science
  • 1 Credit in Canadian History
  • 1 Credit in Canadian Geography
  • 1 Credit in the Arts
  • 1 Credit in Health and Physical Education
  • 1 Credit in French as a Second Language
  • 0.5 Credit in Career Studies
  • 0.5 Credit in Civics
  • Other Credits as per Student’s selection of Subjects supported by CTL’s Guidance Counsellors

A student must complete:

  • 30 credits comprising 18 compulsory credits and 12 optional credits
  • 40 hours of community involvement, and the literacy requirement
  • Each credit is earned when a student successfully completes a subject, including assignments. 
  • Ontario Government requires a student to complete a minimum of 110 scheduled hours, for every credit.
Besides the compulsory credits, students must complete 12 optional credits and CTL Canada School Guidance Counsellors will work with the students to select the appropriate Subjects as per their chosen Career Path and with the Support of CTL facilitated meetings with College and University placement specialists.

To improve the opportunity of access into Premier Canadian and Global Universities for STEM programs, CTL will expect the students to complete the following during the 4 years with us:

  • Read, Write and Speaking proficiency in Advanced English, Advanced French and an additional one other of Global Top 5 Languages
  • Successfully complete CTL Youth Leadership Program
  • Successfully implement a minimum 3 Community projects with CTL’s per year microfunding (US$250/year)
  • Successfully enter and participate CTL Annual Summer Camp competitions
  • Successfully implement a Disruptive Innovation project for Local or Global or Both Human Transformation (with the support of CTL and Partners including funding and mentoring)
